AFWNY which holds a day after the World Cup ends, July 12th-18th, 2010 is the brainchild of twenty-three (23) year old Adiat Disu, the daughter of Nigeria’s Ex-football and World Cup player Tajudeen Disu. 19 designers will show at AFWNY including Nigeria’s Yemi Osunkoya of Kosibah, Arewa Designs and Frank Oshodi.
The muti-luxury date event already has the support of the city of New York which will proclaim the week AFWNY, REVLON, Dollhouse, strong Nigerian owned brands (including LADYBRILLE, BHF, Munaluchi, Arik International, ICY PR, Trendy Africa) and other equally strong African brands like BISILA WINES, JAMATI and OBAASEMA.
For entertainment, the producers reveal performances by FELA! Broadway Musical, Rwanda’s Iyadede and yet to be revealed high profile African artists.
