Agbani Darego is not your ordinary Nigerian fashion model. Trying to relegate her to such category would simply be a futile exercise. For millions of Blacks worldwide, the fashion model’s win as Miss World 2001 represented a victory for both Nigeria and Black women. Her win reaffirmed the saying “black is beautiful” and remains a historical moment in the world and fashion’s history books.

Agbani is currently based in New York where she pursues a degree in Business while she continues modeling.
